Fusion PPT CEO’s to be Featured Speaker for the InformationWeek Webinar on Cyber Security Standards
Fusion PPT announced today that that CEO Michael Biddick will be a featured speaker for the InformationWeek Webinar “Cyber Security Standards for Major Infrastructure.” The Webinar will be held at 11:00AM ET on January 14th, 2014. Biddick, an expert in the field of cloud computing who has authored a book on “Federal Cloud Computing” and written over 50 articles on cloud-related topics, will discuss the issues surrounding national cyber security, and the current state of cyber security efforts within the United States Government.
It is an established fact that critical infrastructure technology of the U.S. Government, the private contractors that support it, and its citizens are vulnerable to cyber-attacks from both criminals and state-backed operators. This is a disturbing reality, and security concerns will continue to dominate Federal IT priorities into the next decade as attacks become more sophisticated. In an effort mitigate cyber security risks, the Federal Government released an executive order that directed all Federal agencies and departments to work to improve the state of cyber security in the face of inevitable, well-organized attacks.
During the webinar, Biddick, alongside other industry leaders, will explore the existing Federal cyber security initiatives, and the Federal Government’s role in ensuring the security of U.S. critical infrastructure, data, and information systems. Participants in the webinar will learn about the progress that the Government has made in developing a Cyber Security Framework to address the need for increased security measures. Attend this webinar to learn about:
- The Government’s definition of critical infrastructure.
- How close to a final framework the Government is, and what challenges lie ahead.
- New standards and procedures that are already being used.
- Identified gaps in cyber security efforts, and suggestions for future efforts.
Come to this session armed with your questions. Participants in the webinar will have the opportunity to submit questions directly to the panelists for a live Q&A session during the hour.
