Fusion PPT CEO to Present Case Study Keynote on Cloud Interoperability and Portability at Cloud Connect Summit

Fusion PPT announced today that CEO Michael Biddick has been selected to present case study keynote session titled “Case Study on Cloud Computing Interoperability and Portability” at the Cloud Connect Summit, which will be held from March 31st to April 1st 2014 during the Interop Las Vegas conference. Biddick, an expert in the field of cloud computing who has authored a book on “Federal Cloud Computing” and written over 50 articles on cloud-related topics, will provide his insight on cloud computing portability and interoperability efforts within a U.S. Government agency.

The cloud-enabled enterprise is continuously and rapidly evolving, challenging established IT providers, and transforming IT as we now know it. Rather than asking whether it is a good idea to move to the cloud, for many organizations it is now a matter of when to move, and how to utilize the cloud’s abundant resources to increase productivity and outpace competition. This and much more will be discussed at this year’s Cloud Connect Summit, under the theme “10 Critical Cloud Decisions.” Workshops at the Summit will discuss the most pressing cloud, policy, IT, and organizational debates in the cloud-enabled enterprise, including Open Data, Open Cloud, SaaS, IT-as-a-Service, “Stack Wars,” cloud operational and policy issues, case studies, and more.

At the Cloud Connect Summit, Biddick will present a case study keynote on cloud computing portability and interoperability within a U.S. Government agency. As more agencies develop private clouds and seek low-cost commercial public clouds for their information technology (IT) needs, portability and interoperability between different clouds is becoming increasingly important. Portability and interoperability are needed to reduce cloud provider lock-in and provide resiliency during times of crisis. The contention is that public cloud providers have financial interests in limiting portability to other providers in order to create a reliance on their services.

The use of cloud computing services within the U.S. Government agency is planned to increase efficiency, agility, cost savings, and innovation. Over the past several years, dozens of cloud environments have also been established within the Agency to provide a wide variety of cloud computing services. To achieve the full value and benefits of cloud computing within the Agency, and to effectively work with U.S. Government inter-agency initiatives and share resources with coalition partners, it is essential to ensure that cloud computing services within the Agency’s IT environment are portable and interoperable.

This workshop is designed for technology and business leaders in the cloud-enabled enterprise. Come to this session armed with your questions. Participants in the case study keynote will have the opportunity to submit questions directly to Mr. Biddick during the event. To learn more about this session, please click here.
