Fusion PPT Published Cloud Computing Maturity Model

Fusion PPT published a Cloud Computing Maturity Model (CCMM) for federal agencies.

“A maturity model provides a framework for planning, adopting and managing the implementation of cloud computing best practices,” noted Fusion PPT CEO, Michael Biddick. He continued, “We’ve developed the Cloud Computing Maturity Model to help establish a baseline of readiness and adoption of cloud computing elements within federal agencies.”
Fusion PPT compiled data from working with dozens of leading private cloud providers and created a tool that will evaluate the current state of efforts to migrate IT workloads to the cloud. The toolkit includes a series of assessment areas that together with the CCMM will benchmark the current state and identify specific actionable tasks to advance cloud computing.

As agencies move to cloud computing, it is critical to benchmark the current state of the environment with peers and commercial providers. This information can be used to develop a pragmatic roadmap and strategy to accomplish government IT objectives such as the 25-Point Plan to Reform Federal IT, the Shared Services Strategy and the Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative (FDCCI).

As part of the assessment process, a number of inputs are collected around the overall cloud computing strategy, service catalog, as well as the infrastructure around servers, storage, networking and the cloud lifecycle management tools to govern the cloud.
